I have been running my car for several months without a splash pan. As a result, it has been quick and easy to jack it up. I usually use the center frame bracket in front of the oil pan (B230F) for jacking. I cannot get both the floor jack and stand in place when I use the side body jacking points.
But I got a new splash pan and now I realized it really interferes with my getting the jack on that center bracket frame without it potentially cracking the splash pan.
So, my idea is to simply cut out part of the middle of the splash pan far enough back to get the floor jack cup in place without hitting the splash pan. But it is only an idea and I do not know if it is workable or not. Anyone do it - without problems?
