Gas mileage-interesting questions (I hope) 200

Folks...

Was thinking (ouch! that hurt!) about the amazing mileage that my wagon gets (27mpg) and wondered if the 244 and 242 might get even better mileage because they are lighter. Then I started to wonder if mileage is better on later model cars with LH 2.4 injection. It also occured to me that several changes were made to the B230 in the late eighties (beefier bearings, etc.) and what impact would that have on mileage and efficiency.

Does anyone know if there is an appreciable difference in economy with the 90-93 240s?

Just curious.... :-)
