Been going to the junkyard alot lately(I'm 17, cheap, and have 2 Volvos two tinker with). First off I found a crack free 740 dash. I got all fasteners undone but I can't seem to free it from the car. I can wiggle it around but it seems to be attached at the base of the windshield with metal clips. If anyone knows how to get it out let me know. I also got some real nice '90's 240 seats for my new 242 GT. The only problem is they were from a four door. Is it possible(or easy) to modify the front four door seats to fold forward using the hardware from the two door seats with out cutting holes in the sides of the seatbacks for the button? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I also found a 245 third seat in good condition except that it doesn't have the armrests. What are all the parts I need to make it possible for somebody to install this in their 245? I don't need it but it seem they are wanted items and are usually expensive. I could probably buy it cheap and pass it on to a fellow brick owner. Lastly how much would gas consumption suffer if I was to install a turbo rear end on my 740 gle. My rear end is whining like crazy and I don't feel like paying to have it fixed and I just happened to stumble upon a turbo rear end. Has anyone else done this? One more thing, is that my fuel pump that is buzzing? The little thing in the cage that is beneath the drivers seat(underneath the car) was what I thought was the fuel pump but the Haynes book says it is in front of the drivers side rear wheel. Any help with any of these questions would be greatly appreciated and does anybody want a 245 third seat? Thanks.
