Plastic polish 700 90

One of the tail lights on my 90 744ti has become quite dull and crazed. I have tried to bring it back to life but all of my efforts have been in vain. I have even tried plastic polish and jewelers rouge with a polishing wheel on my drill but to no avail.

If anyone has a tried and true of rejuvenation method please tell all.
