Dead spot in acceleration when first starting out... 140-160 1972

Hey guys, I got a 1972 142E last week that has an interesting issue to it. When you first start out, the car barely accelerates, unless you rev it a little and slip the clutch. It will also do this if you let it idle for a bit and then try to accelerate from a stop. I changed the throttle switch on it and nothing's changed. Other than this problem, the car runs fine. Any ideas?
