torque specs for front stabilizer and link 200 1991

just replaced the two bushings on stabilizer to link pin connection as well as the bushing at the link pin to control arm connection. The old ones were so "smashed," I thought the supplier sent the wrong bushings. my Haynes manual lists torque specs for these bolts as "front stabilizer, 33 ft.lbs" But, at 33 ft lbs, the stabilizer to link pin bushings are smashed way beyond any bushing i have ever seen before. surprisingly though, when smashed to 33 ft lbs, they resemble the ones i took out. So, i wonder if i did the correct procedure and should i leave them as they are, or did the guy who changed them last time also smash them to 33 ft. lbs by mistake and we both performed the WRONG procedure?

can someone please check your Bentley or other than Haynes manual and let me know.

thanks
