I have a '86 765T with 155k miles. The car died at a light and restarted fine. Drove it a couple of blocks died again and restarted fine. Now it won't start at all. I already replaced the distributor with a rebuilt one and changed the plugs and still the car won't start. It started and idled fine for about 30 sec after I squirted oil into each cylinder and then it just died as though someone just turned it off. I don't think its a fuel problem because every time I remove the plugs they're always wet with fuel. The timing is fine. I suspect it to be an ignition/spark problem. I would hate to keep on replacing part after part. Could it be a bad ground or a intermitently bad ballast resistor pack or a bad coil? What test can I perform to pinpoint the problem. This car has been bullet proof up to this point.
