fuel pump retrofit kit 200 79

i have been posting before about my fuel pump troubles (as have half the world it seems ;-). Anyway.. I went to the volvo dealer/mechanic yesterday and he said that because volvo dont manufacture the pre 80 fuel pump (main) anymore, they now have a retrokit fit available to fit a newer pump to the older cars. what i want to know is are the newer 80-83 k-jet pumps able to deliver the proper amount of fuel to my 79 k-jet? why are they almost half the price?
