Squeaky Door and Mirror Defrost 900 1994

I have 2 questions:

1. My drivers side door is very squeaky. I have added WD40 and it had helped some. Should I be using some type of oil and/or is there an adjustment?

2. My driver side mirror defrsot doesn't work. Are there any simple troubleshooting things I can do to fix it?
