Vibration 200 1980

I'm having an odd and almost violent vibration in my 240 DL lately, and i do not live in So. California.

At idle, and not during acceleration or travel, the car seems to shimmy an awful lot, nearly to the point i feel the car's going to sputter out. Interestinly enough the engine is just as quiet as always, purrs like a.. you know. However, my car feels like it's having seizures. I've owned the car about 10 months now, and it's only started doind this in the past week - week and a half.
