Green light on headlight switch ... turn off? 900 1993

My 93 940 has a rectangular green light on the headlight switch label ... I guess it shows the driver where the switch is at night? The problem is that it is very bright and distracting at night ... and it does not dim. Is there any way to turn off or dim this light? ( I think I can find it OK if I need it. )
