CAUTION about URETHANE sway link bushing 700 87

Don't kown how or what caused this, but I'm shocked. Took my sister's 740 for a drive and noticed a lot of vibration while braking. I did the front end bushings sometime this summer and used Urethane sway bar link bushings.

Came home, removed the front wheel and what! Broken sway bar links!! Both sides! On is broken is two places. Were these too hard, or did I tighten them too much? I do recall keeping the same specs are the manual them, I think. Any have the same experience?
