Volvophiles,
My brother has an '82 242DL that he is considering selling. The body is immac., interior is a little worn, and the headgasket kicked the bucket a few months back. The car was repainted jet black about 8 years ago by the previous owner after being wrecked. It looks like it was professional job and I think it looks very smart.
So, anyway, he'll sell me this thing for $300. Now, I've always wanted a Turdbo, and I figure that since the engine on this car is toast (260K and blown headgasket-forget it!) and I'll probably end up yanking it out anyway, and since it already has CIS....would a turdbo motor (b21ft) be a more or less direct drop-in?
A local yard has an '85 B21FT+AW-71 combo w/140K from a totaled wagon that they will let go of for $600. Car currently has a B21F+BW-35 (gag). What other parts would I need from the wagon to do this 'sides the wire harness?
If not a B21ft...what about a B23E?
TIA!
