Is it normal to loose some oil? 700 88

Question:

I drive my 740t about 400 miles each weekend on the interstate from "college land" to home. After about two roundtrips, I notice that I have lost about a half a quart of oil in between driving. Is this normal or is there a leak somewhere not visible? Checked under car, and it is dry as a bone and exhust has no sign of burnt oil. No smoke either. I use Valvoline 10w-30 fully synthetic.
