In September I rebuilt a donated B20E. Swapped out the original B18D and am now happily tooling around with a fresh motor - all's well. My intention was to rebuild the B18 (turn it into a B18B) and have it "standing by" when that beautiful body (544, 210 or 122) with no engine or blown engine comes my way. I mean, it would be immoral to just get rid of my original motor, and if I'm going to hold on it, why not have it be usable, rather than an assortment of parts. Just re-ring, new 71 cam, etc. Right?
Problem is, I need to go to oversize pistons - not a small consideration. Compression rings broken and overbore necessary. No Mahle pistons .030 over around. Any ideas from you packrats out there?
