Replacement Battery and Hazards Switch 700 1989

Hey everyone,
I have an '89 Volvo 740 Turbo w/ Intercooler and had bought it used. Well the battery by Batteries Plus is a 5 year battery bought in January 5 years ago. And well... quite on schedule it just decided to quit yesterday... I was able to get a jump to get the car running but haven't tried since. I've decided just to buy a new one. Problem is they want to charge me $104 for a damn battery. Why? There's no specific Cavity size so would any 500 c/c amp battery work? I've found one at a Walmart for a much more stomachable $26.

Also, I need to take a driving test in this car and have it be my luck to have the hazards not work... everything else works just not the hazard lights setting. When I push the switch in it does nothing... and for something even more odd... it flashes when i turn on my left turn signal (its a red traslucent switch and it flashes apparently.)... How do I fix this... can i fix it?!?!

THANKS A BUNCH!!
Joe

Been A LOONG time since I had to post my problems here... hopefully you guys can pull through again for me :)
