oil light acting strange 200 1986

Today, after starting my car, the oil light stayed on after starting, then sort of flickered between on and off and somewhere between while I was driving. Eventually it went all the way off, and now doesn't come on during ignition. I am pretty sure it did before. The oil was changed last week, I checked it again and it is fine, there are no real leaks. Is it probably an electrical issue, and should I worry about driving it? Thanks.
