Lately, in the morning, when I start my 245, I have to rev it up to get it to jump to life and then I have to keep it the revs at ~1500, and let it slowly down to idle or it will stall out. Even for a minute or two after that it will want to stall if I don't regulate the revs carefully.
I have a vacuum gauge. I want to understand how to read it, but there are no numbers on it. It simply has a black range and an orange range. The needle rests at the far left when idling, and jumps when I push on the gas.
Could I have a vacuum leak, which would be causing my problems? If so, how do I go about checking for any leaks? A friend of mine also suggested that the air flow or mass meter may be botched up, which would create the same symptoms. Suggestions please before I take it back to the mechanic (I like to solve problems on my own before resorting to the mechanic if possible.) Thanks in advance.
