WEll, I got a pleasant surprise this New Year's morning - my niecce rolled home in her 88 740 wagon with the windows down, complaining they were fogging up (in 20 degree weather) with the heater on full blast.Hmmmmmmmmmm!
Sat in the car and smelled coolant - and low and behold a puddle of coolant in the carpet! Geeezzzzzze! What the .... I had noticed the coolant go down a bit last week and checked the water pump. The heater control flap valve (engine compartmentt was replace by me when I got the car - should not be that.
Question - is it more likely a heater hose of the heater core on 740s? I have had my share of 240s with this kind a crap, but this is a first on a 740. Welcome to 2002.
It would not be too bad, but I am working on friend's 91 240 wagon in the garage right now. Giving it a once over for a trip to Maine - (she is moving from SW Ohio to Maine on Friday) Boy would I love to keep this wagon - 122k on a 91 240 and it pristine shape! After driving it I want to find another 91-93 240 wagon!!
