Why doe my car stall when I push the clutch in? 200 1984

Hey all. Here's the deal. My car idles fine. Starts fine, revs fine. However, if I have to come to a stop and I push the clutch in, it stalls. The rpms drop down past 1k (where it normally idles) and it stalls. Sometimes it "catches itself"- the rpms down down to about 300 and then the engine revs jump up and then idles. Any ideas?
