245 ignition 200 1982

The mechanical portion (actuating rod) of my ignition has broken off. I do have a parts car with another ignition. My question is... is there anyway to exchange the tumblers so that I can use the same key? I don't know where the key is for the parts car so I have to do something. I don't have either ignition out yet (I'm doing the car thief technique for now) so I'm not even sure what is possible, perhaps there is a way to just replace the shaft... any ideas? Thanks.
