Easy sensor removal, gone sour! 200 1989

OK, I hear that the crank sensor is easy to remove on the 240's. Simply one bolt and remove, unfortunately it hasn't worked like that. Upon removal the top of the old sensor snapped of making the rest of the sensor virtually impossible to extract. Anyone have any suggestions on how to remove the remains of the sensor from its holding bracket, short of removing the transmission?
