I have a late model 1993 Volvo 960 and i was washing my car yesterday and decided that i would dust stuff off under the hood... first thing i went for was my filter and cold air box.. i pulled out the filter and shook it out.. then like an idiot i turned the engine on, after replacing the filter and the latches on the cold air box, and while the engine was idle, i pulled the cable that was connected to the intake... people tell me that it's called the O2 sensor er something like that.... anyways.. the car started to make weird noises and sputtered a bit and right when that happend, i threw the cable back on the connector and it went back to normal... that scared the crap outta me so i turned the engine off and turned it back on.. right then the check engine light came on and it still turns everytime i start the car now....my question is.. WHAT DID I MESS UP AND HOW DO I FIX IT AND IF POSSIBLE, HOW DO I GET RID OF THAT 'CHECK ENGINE' LIGHT??
PLEASE REPLY ASAP...
Thanks,
Dan
