Switching to Synthetic Oil 900 1994

Hey all,
I'm thinking about changing the oil in my 940 turbo to a synthetic oil. The engine has 50 thousand miles on it so I'm not overly concerned with new leaks. What should I do before switching. Is there any kind of flush or treatment that I should use before use the synthetic? Anyone want to argue against using the synthetic? Thanks
