now, i have done modifications on my car before. i've installed sound equip. in my car and other friends' cars. i've redone my cooling system, and replaced some ignition parts. nothing big, but i mean, i have done things to it with little problem. but i've been having one problem lately with my instrument cluster. i can't get the damn thing off. i removed the steering column cover and the two bottom screws that hold it in, but i can't seem to pull it from the idiot clips on the top. i've tugged and tugged and i'm afraid ill break it eventually. my speedometer and odometer stopped working this afternoon, and i have a light out on the fuel gauge. i tried removing it months ago to fix the burnt-out light, but it couldn't get it out so i figured it was tolerable. the cluster and the dash are too close together for me to use a flat head screwdriver to push down the clip with. i felt this was kind of a silly question to post here, but i figure it can't hurt now.
if anyone has had trouble pulling this thing off of a pre-80 240, please tell me how you resolved it.
