fuel gauge doesn't work 900 1994

Hi,

I joined the 940 world today with a 94 940 (RED)wagon (119,500 replacing my 93 850 that was totaled two weeks ago. This was the second Volvo I've had totaled. Think I'll paint a "hit here" sign on the back.

Anyway, I picked this really nice 940 (base) 1994 wagon. The fuel gauge doesn't work. The folks we bought it from said they had checked the connections and all is well. Before I start rechecking, I thought I'd ask if this is a common problem (never seen this on our 240, 740 or 850s).

If the wireing and fuses are OK, should I suspect the sending unit?
