HELP!!! PLEASE!!!! Transmission slowly died!!!! 200 1982

Okay, I have an '82 GLE V6. Some of you may say that's the problem...anyway..
Last week I posted and said that reverse magically turned itself into drive, but that went away on its own. (3-sp automatic) Today, it happened again, only BETTER. This time, not only did reverse change into a forward gear, but then it disappeared. And then so did 3rd. So I'm attempting to drive on the highway in 2nd, which is 55mph and about 5000rpm. So I stopped, thinking that maybe this was vacuum or linkage related, and put it in park. Then I slowly went through and selected each gear, hoping something would sort itself out. P-R-N-3-2-1, 1-2-3-N-R-P. After attempting this, I was left with no nothing. No forward gears or reverse. Unless I gave it about 5500rpm, and a forward gear would catch for a moment. So my car is now abandoned along the highway 55 miles from home. Any suggestions? Please not the whole tranny!
