need cheap alternative for the black tape 200 1989

Ok, i posted this earlier, but what would be a good replacement for the black tape that surrounds the area on the doors near the windows? I don't wanna get raped by the volvo dealer, and heard that 3m tape works pretty darn well. I alos don't wanto to just sand it off and paint it black either. any help would be great. thanks.
