Finally picked up the car today. And it's an '87, so that part is straightened out. What an adventure...
Since the head and turbo are off, we had to push it onto the tow dolly. In the process, we got too much speed and pushed it right past the stops. The rear tires went over the front of the trailer and fell off. So the car is sitting on the frame on the trailer. Couldn't lift the car high enough with the floor jack, a 4x4 and the rear bumper. Had to lift it with the diff as high as we could get it, put the biggest jack stands under the shock/spring mounts, and push the car forward until we pushed the car off the jack stands and onto the trailer. What a nightmare.
Anyway, the guy charged $150 (I'm guessing $75 per hour) and told me that the head is warped and needs a valve job. So I've got this box of parts in the trunk. The head is wrapped in plastic. The exhaust is hanging by a coat hanger in the engine bay, and the car is dirtier than Monica Lewinsky.
So, with that, I'm going skiing this weekend to celebrate and procrastinate. Woo hoo! But first, I need a drink. Hmm.... Thursdays is cheap drink and ladies night.... Think I'll head to the bars with some friends and oogle the chicks...
