There's a snake in my brakes! 140-160 1970

Every so often, and more and more often, when I hit
my brakes there is a hissing noise coming from the
footwell. I bet that it is the booster, probably
leaking, and probably telling me I need to spend some
money and or time on it.

I've looked at the booster, and almost pulled one
off of a similar salvage yard 164 but it looked like
you have to remove the whole damned petal box. Is
this the case? How do you remove it? Do you repair
the booster or do you replace the whole thing? I
bet it's just some 30 year old diaphram that needs
to be replaced.

And yes, I need to buy the darned green book on this
car. I've seen them around but I'm starting to think
that I need to jump when I see one.
