Plug recommendations? Oil change? 700 1989

Finally figuring out my rich running condition on my soon to be 1 week old 740 Turbo, (thanks to all here who helped), I think I better throw in some new plugs and change the oil. Is there a consensus on the best plug to use? Gap? And being my first Volvo, is there anything special I need to know about changing the oil? (my Saab 900 had two different plug washers for example). A consensus on type of oil? I am generally not a big fan of synthetics and don't mind spending the time and money on frequent oil changes. Appreciate any input!
