I swapped the relays on my front seat heaters, and the passenger side is still the only one of the two in working condition. The FAQ page advice is to go after the thermostat terminals next, and that is what I am planning to do.

I have not pulled the seat yet. Are the contacts, and the thermostat, accessible from underneath? Do I need to pull back the leather upholstery?
