M47 Conversion 200 1983

I recently picked up a M47 transmission and plan on using it in one of my 240's. I am aware of their reputation but this one is new (or nearly) and I'm pretty easy on transmisssions. Before I take a car off the road for the conversion, a couple of questions.

This transmission is minus the bracket that bolts to the rear of the case and supports the shift lever. Is this part the same as on the M45/46? Since no o/d wiring is needed, can I use the shift lever from my M45? The recepient cars will have either a M46 ('80 DL)or auto ('83 TI with o/d). Will either (or neither) driveshaft fit. If not, how much difference?

I realize I will not have a speedometer gear in the 5 speed. Has anyone ever converted an earlier 240 to the later, electronic, speedo. I will have the rear end open to change the ratio and add lsd. Speedo is not essential in this car.

I know that lubrication is an issue. I have heard that overfilling the case is recommended. How much?

Thanks in advance
