rough idle, smelly tailpipe seemingly fixed, thanks to all 200 1987

So the 87 240 with appr. 120k on it that I picked up last week is now seemingly running like a top. It was idling very rough (shaking like a 7.0 quake) and emitting a slight amount of smelly black smoke from the tailpipe. Replaced the cap and rotor and plugs (the old ones were pretty black from the rich running) and pretty much ran the same. I disconnected the air mass meter and the idle smoothed right out. Fortunate enough to have U-Pick-Parts here in So. Ca. and I located the only AMM in the yard, popped it in, and now it runs beautifully. And the best part, no pun intended, it was only 35.00. Hell, they even sell warranties for an extra 25% at this place.
It looks like the previous owner spent a bit on new injectors and a few other things before giving it up.

Anyway, thanks to all for the help, I'm now ready for the Ca. smog test.
Last week was my first week on this board and I've learned an awful lot from it already!
