Final Analysis from Machine Shop 900 1995

UPS finally showed with the head gasket, motor mounts and Head Bolts.... Volvo OEM... won't be able to sit for 6 months after this.

I went all the way to Chatsworth to get the stem seals and valve. It's good to know capitalist Koreans in low places....Machine shop said "national backorder".

I dropped them at the Machine Shop where I got quite a lengthy talking to by the proprietor. He said my EGR transfer passages were all coked up. Completely blocked and that the car had "severe running problems". He said the gas was just dumping in and gumming up. He stands by his oil pooling theory of yesterday but said there "is much more going on with this car."

My #3 injector was suspect last week, I changed with a used / known good.

I called my freind at the Volvo Dealer. He said probably a combination of "shitty wiring" and a weak igniter pack contributed to this. I just installed 6 new igniter packs a month ago when this started acting up again.

Then he asked me the the most telling question of all.....

"Tom, tell me the truth..... are you running cheap gas in that thing?"

My freind, the 20 year Master Tech, is very much against running the very best fuel in high perf Volvo engines.

The scene unravels huh?

Oh, the machine shop showed me no mercy on the cost. Even after I sourced and couriered the parts to them. The parts they "didn't need".

I pick the head up tomorrow, on lunch break from work.
