fuel pump relay location? 200 1989

Ok, Ladies and Gentlemen I have a dilema that I hope you can solve. I have a 1989 Volvo 240 which is having a problem with its fuel pump. The symptoms is that the car cranks normally, but the fuel pump will not run. I have heard that the fuel pump relay goes out regularly, but according to most people on the brickboard there is no seperate relay besides the white relay found at the passengers feet. However, this white relay according to Bentley and Chilton wiring diagrams is the LH system relay, not the fuel pump relay, so the question is where is this phantom relay and what is it that keeps this fuel pump from running if it is not the relay? (According to the manual wiring diagrams there is not only this LH relay, but also a seperate fuel pump relay.) Help!
