New window regulator 700 1989

Had a problem with my window not fully closing, posted a question about it and tried the recomended suggestions. Came to the conclusion that the regulator was bad. I now have a new regulator /motor. Does anyone have any tips on how to install the new model unit? Volvo it seems changed the new replacement unit and it doesn't match the old unit. According to OEM Volvo new mounting holes may be necessary. Has anyone had experience with this?
