Volvo in-line 6 cylinder engine same as Jeep's? 900

Hello. I was talking with a guy the other day that told me that the Volvo inline six cylinder engine has the same block as the engine used by Chrysler for their Jeeps. Volvo would have obviously used different head, intake, exhaust, cranskshaft, connecting rods, pistons, etc.
Anybody have any extra info on the subject? Thank you very much for your time.
