oil pressure sending wire 200

I would like to replace the shredded wire to my oil pressure sending unit, without replacing the entire harness. Is is possible to splice in a new section, and what type of wire should be used? Also, should I replace the sending unit(150k), although it is not leaking as of yet? thanks.
