My head is pounding.
I got the 960 all put back together last night. It ran like shit and kicked a code for EFI. The new harness was wet. I pulled it apart and left it to dry.
This morning I found an EGR pipe to the intake I left behind. Got it straightened out. Clipped the harness abck togather and started it. A few coolant leaks here and there, some new clamps took care of it.
and the car got warmed....
It is POURING ENGINE OIL INTO EVERY ONE OF THE SIX CYLINDERS!!!!
It is doing so evenly. This is not left overs. This is fresh oil being PUMPED RAW into each cylinder. This is new.
It ran for about 45 minutes total, at various rpm's. It NEVER cleaned up. Never got less.
My friend came over, the master volvo tech. He just dropped his head and rocked it back and forth. His first thought was a cracked block or broken piston rings. But logic prevailed..... it was NOT doing htis before I yanked the head... His next thought was that I somehow shifted the head gasket. But it has an index pin on the block and I dropped a bolt through one hole for guidance.
Folks I am in desperate straights here. Extremely desperate. I feel like a compulsive gambler who is pushed into a financial corner and waiting on "just one more hand" to pull a 21.
The last thing my buddy the Master Tech said was:(eastern Europe accent) "Why don't you go put on this internet/volvo shit you always talking about, see what is it they say?"
So on his sage advice, I am turning this over to you all for speculation. We will try a leakdown test tomorrow, if he can shanghai the tools for the night.
