Leakdown test is done. Piston Rings are Blown. Maybe Cracked Block. 900 1995

Thats it. I'm done.\

My friend the master tech came over. We did a leakdown test. #1 is 22pounds differential and is puking oil out through the flame trap and straight into the intake.

BTW, he supports the Machinists theory about the new head bringing up compression to the point where an already weakened ring blows out.

Remember, late 99.... I overheated in Orange County due to a cracked pressure cap?? The black one??

He says this started it... caused the ring on #1 to collapse and lose temper. This started my HUGE oil consumption. It got weaker with time, then the compression comes up with a new head and BOOM.

Now we must wait until the weekend for a thorough block inspection. He says ther is about a 15-20% chance of a cracked block.

Maybe it will be 'just' rings.

I am now teetering on absolute insanity.

My kids don't even know me any more.
