hey folks,
I have a '93 940 B230 with AW70L transmission and 110K miles. I've never owned a car with a lock-up Torque Converter before this one. At this point I don't care for it much. It seems to lock up too early, it does it at about 45-46 MPH. Thereby sort of bogging down the engine since the rpm drops so much. Also, it seems that once its locked up and especially at speeds greater than about 50 MPH, when you let off the gas you can really feel it, meaning that it kicks forward just a little bit. This is opposed to a smooth transition between throttle and no throttle. And then when you reapply the throttle (with the TC still locked) it kind of kicks a little bit again. I don't know if this is normal and if its just a little slop in the torque converter assembly or perhaps some weird running problem with the engine that manifests itself at high speeds. Also, is there any adjustment on when the TC locks up? I would like to have it lock up at about 50-55 MPH instead of where it does it know. Thanks a bunch for any feedback that you all might have on these issues.
