I have an 85 Volvo 760 Turbo which needs some suspension work-(I think). The car rides and handles OK, however I have 4 different ride heights from the four wheels. In particular, the left front is aprox 1.5-1.75 inches lower than the right front. Also, the left side of the car rides lower than the right side. There is no bottoming, nor are there any noises when driving. I've come across several theories;
1. Weak or broken spring(s).
2. Nivomat rear shocks acting up.
While the car doesn't handle poorly, it's surely no match for my friend's 89 744T.
Would it make most sense to simply replace all shcoks/struts/springs, or am I jumping the gun? The car is in very good shape and I intend to keep it for some time to come. Please suggest different options to improve handling, diagnose the abnormality, and the possibility of replacing the rear Nivomats with regular shocks and heavy duty springs. That said, I would like to improve handling without destroying the ride.
Many thanks,
Will
