What is this? 700

I have a '88 760 gle with the v6 (I guess all 760's have a v6 so this may be redundant), that I am trying to get ready to sell. Popped the hood yesterday and noticed this black rubber thing split in half. Since I do not know what it is or the name of it I do not know how to ask for a part. Yes this one has everything wrong with it that has been written about on the boards, brake vibration, passenger side floorboard leaks, etc. It may wind up in the junk yard.

I am going to try to get the picture of this thing to appear here but if it does not it is under the technical photos, #669
