ABS lamp comes on after a hard winter stop 900

A few times since I've had my car (7 years), after a hard stop on snow or ice which causes my ABS system to kick in, the ABS lamp turns on. If I turn the car off, then on again, the light stays off. Has anyone else experienced this, or does anyone know what the problem is (or whether or not it is a problem)?
