Thanks to everyone for your input.
This being my first Volvo experience I needed all the help I could get.
I have done my research on this car and have the following data to share.
It has 60,000miles on it, having been serviced by the local dealer since new - all parts have been oem volvo even the sparkplugs. All records are at the dealer with whom I spoke. They did mention that the timing belt has been serviced with recall upgrades. I also took it to a separate mechanic and from looking at the engine both from the top and underneath, there is not one drop of oil or fluid to be found. Now, he may have powerwashed everything but it seems unlikely. So far so good...
I'm getting the car for a great price, around $5000 Canadian.
Do you recommend synthetic fluids for this car (engine,trans,diff)?
