Need help with oil leak from rear of valve cover or cylinder head 200 1993

I have a 93 245 that is leaking oil from the area of the rear of the cylinder head or the valve cover. There is some type of round metal plug back there. Is this some type of seal? What's the likely culprit? THanks.
