I have a set of 1996 TAURUS SHO wheels that I'm going to put on my 1984 242 Ti. What is the best size tire for proper fit and speedometer accuracy?

The bolt circle and offset should be perfect, I have set of 225/50 16, that I could install, the wheels currently have 225/55 16 tires on them - and they look very tall!!
Any advise is greatly appreciated.
