A/C quit working 700 1992

I know this is going to upset some people because its really cold right now where a lot of you live. We had unseasonably warm weather up until a few days ago and my wife noticed that the A/C quit working. The compressor is not coming on. I haven't really had time to troubleshoot it too much but after reading the FAQ I decided that I should post here.

Any ideas as to what would make the compressor stop coming on when the A/C OFF button is not pressed in? Switch? Relay? Thingamabob?
