No Brakelights- - AGAIN 200 1985

Well, a couple of weeks ago I found out that the retainers were switched thus appearing as if I had no brakelights with the Headlights on. So I fixed that and all is okay. Well today I'm driving and get home and notice they aren't coming on again, no matter if there are headlights on or not. Bulbs are fine. Fuse was fine. (blew it fiddling) So, after I blew the fuse and had no power at the switch on the pedal, I took m y multimeter and checked to see if there was continuity between the only 2 terminals on the brake light switch. (one with a red striped green wire and one with a red striped blue wire and with the pedal down of course) Checked many times and no continuity. I take this to mean the switch is bad. If so, how hard is it to get out?. The only thing I can't figure out is how the switch itself is held on; I see the bolt for the actuator. On a different note, can you still buy the type of fuses that my car has? They appear to be plastic or porcelain with a thin metal strip that melts. If not, are there subsitutes?
Thanks again.
